Please note – All dogs partaking in hydrotherapy or swimming at Pawtherapy K9 Aquatic & Massage

Centre, are required to wear a life jacket regardless of their swimming ability.  During their first swim

session, their swimming ability will be assessed by a Hydrotherapist, to ensure that they are in fact

comfortable in the pool area and can safely use the ramp upon entering and exiting the water.

Therapeutic / Rehabilitation Services

Initial Consultation - Therapeutic Services (i.e. Hydrotherapy, Laser, Massage, etc.

(Only 1 Dog Per Appointment – Consultation takes approximately 45-60 Minutes*

$120.00 + HST

Consists of a consultation between you and a Canine Hydrotherapist / Canine Rehabilitation

Technician at Pawtherapy’s facility, which allows your dog time to become acclimated to their

surroundings and have a mobility assessment conducted (i.e. muscle measurements, stance and gait

analysis, etc.).  An initial intake will be constructed whereby important information will be collected

pertaining to your dog’s current health status, current weight, and a care plan will be designed

accordingly based on your dog’s specific needs and recommendations from your veterinarian. 

Progress reports will be provided to the referring Veterinarian, as needed. Approximately 30 minutes

of this appointment will be used to introduce some of the therapeutic modalities (i.e. hydrotherapy,

massage, laser therapy, dry land exercises, etc.), of which will be continued at future sessions.

Initial Therapeutic Package

This package includes:

3 - Multi-Modal Therapeutic Sessions w/ Laser Therapy for 1-2 Treatment Areas

(1 - 45 Min. Multi-Modal session per week for 3 consecutive weeks

3 – Laser Therapy Sessions for 1-2 Treatment Areas

(1 – 20-minute laser therapy session per week for 3 consecutive weeks and approximately 2-3 days

after the therapeutic session that week)

Please Note – These starter packs must be used within 4 weeks from the time of purchase, which will

not only help myself but also the owner to monitor the effects of laser therapy closely and adequately

in their dog(s).  After the 3 weeks (6 sessions total) have been completed, a maintenance package can

be purchased either including or excluding laser therapy.

Therapeutic Session w/ Laser – *Maintenance Sessions*

(1 Dog = 45 Minute Session)

A multi-modal session offering therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to hydrotherapy,

laser therapy, massage, dry land exercises, kinesiology taping, etc.

$75.00 + HST per session

$390.00 + HST (6 Pack) *Must be used within 4 months from time of purchase*

Consists of approximately 45 minutes with a Canine Hydrotherapist/Canine Rehabilitation Technician

whereby a therapeutic program is designed to work on your dog’s specific needs (i.e., conservative

management for degenerative conditions, weight loss, muscle maintenance / muscle strengthening,

coordination, pre- or post-surgical recovery, etc.) Different swim techniques, range of motion

exercises, proprioceptive work and massage techniques are used to encourage and enhance recovery

and over all well being of your dog.  The quantity of sessions required is specific to each individual

dog’s needs and can only be estimated based on the initial assessment and prognosis from the

referring veterinarian.  Often geriatric dogs or dogs that require conservative management for

degenerative conditions (i.e. cases of arthritis, inflammatory/pain control or emotional well-being),

continue their therapeutic sessions long term.

Recreational Swimming

‍ ‍

Learn to Swim Program (For Dogs Ages 16 weeks +)

(1 Dog = 30 Minute Session w/ Hydrotherapist) 

$45.00 +HST per session

$240.00 + HST (6 Pack) *Must be used within 4 months from time of purchase*

‍ ‍

Consists of approximately 25 minutes with a Canine Hydrotherapist, where they will work with your

dog on safely approaching / using the pool ramp, give them time to adapt to the pool environment,

provide them with doggie paddle time in the pool, and help to improve their swimming form.

Approximately 5-10 minutes is allowed to towel dry your canine or use the grooming dryer.

Note – Swimming is a learned behavior.  As such, every dog’s comfort level is completely different

and as a result may not advance in the pool session(s) as quickly as others.  Once your dog becomes

adequate at swimming, they will be awarded with a certificate and will be able to continue as a

Recreational Swimmer, whereby their owner can facilitate the swim session from the upper deck

area.

Consists of approximately 25 minutes of swim time, with owner supervision from upper deck area

A Hydrotherapist will supervise from within the pool. Approximately 5-10 minutes is allowed to towel

dry your canine or use the grooming dryer. 

‍ ‍Times of rest must be given between laps as swimming is a strenuous, full body workout.

‍ ‍Always remember…5 minutes of swimming is equivalent to 20 minutes of walking!!
